Looking for some good old-fashioned family fun? Make sure to check out Friday Family Movie Nights at Bayside Recreation Center, 4500 First Court Road. All you need is a Virginia Beach Recreation Center membership or visitor pass. Movies are shown on Fridays between 6 and 8 p.m.

    Tale of Desperaux
    The tale of three unlikely heroes - a misfit mouse who prefers reading books to eating them, an unhappy rat who schemes to leave the darkness of the dungeon, and a bumbling servant girl with cauliflower ears - whose fates are intertwined with that of the castle's princess. G

  • April 30 
    Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian
    Security guard Larry Daley infiltrates the Smithsonian Institute in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake. PG

  • May 7 
    Imagine That
    A financial executive who can't stop his career downspiral is invited into his daughter's imaginary world, where solutions to his problems await. PG

    Chicken Little
    After ruining his reputation with the town, a courageous chicken must come to the rescue of his fellow citizens when aliens start an invasion. G

    A father-son underwater adventure featuring Nemo, a boy clownfish, stolen from his coral reef home. His timid father must then travel to Sydney and search Sydney Harbour to find Nemo. G

    When Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends vow to rescue him, but Woody finds the idea of immortality in a museum tempting. G

  • June 4 
    Where the Wild Things Are
    An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler. PG

  • June 11 
    Surf’s Up
    A behind-the-scenes look at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship, and its newest participant, up-and-comer Cody Maverick. PG

  • June 18 
    The Princess and the Frog
    A fairy tale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans and centered on a young girl named Tiana and her fateful kiss with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again. G
