What is 4-H? 4-H is a community of young people (ages 5 to 10) across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
4-H is the youth development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension committed to assisting youth, and adults working with youth, in acquiring the knowledge, life skills, and attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, contributing, and productive members of society. The central theme of 4-H education is "learn by doing;" the 4-H motto is “to make the best better.” 4-H is the only nationwide youth education program that is an extension of the knowledge resources of a university.
