12-Month-Old Immunizations
Make sure your child receives the following vaccinations: Hib, MMR, PCV7, Varicella (chicken pox) and Hepatitis A.
- The Hib vaccine protects your child from a severe bacterial infection that can lead to meningitis, death and permanent brain damage.
- The MMR vaccine protects your child from mumps, a viral illness that can lead to meningitis, inflammation of the testicles or ovaries, inflammation of the pancrease and potentially permanent deafness.
- The PCV7 vaccine protects your child from pneumococcal disease that causes ear and lung infections, brain damage, hearing loss, learning disabilities and death.
- The Varicella vaccine protects your child from chicken pox, a disease caused by a virus in the herpes family that can lead to bacterial infections of the skin, resulting in swelling of the brain and pneumonia.
- The Hepatitis A vaccine protects your child from a disease that can lead to liver failure.
